Emergency Communications and Disaster Recovery
Emergency Communications and Disaster Recovery Picture
Emergency communications and disaster recovery have become an issue of increasing importance in communities throughout the United States. Concerns about interoperability of diverse origins of emergency communications, back-up power and other resources, and the ability to respond at the site of a failure quickly and safely must be addressed by municipalities. Communications infrastructure and broadband play a critical role in these functions and can greatly enhance a municipality or region's efforts to manage communications during emergencies or disasters. The eCorridors group is developing papers that address research questions in the area of emergency communications. Articles and other resources pertaining to this topic can be found here.
